Why do all the white crayons last so long?
I re-posted a funny post from Facebook this morning that got me thinking.
Dear White Crayon, What is it you do here, exactly? Sincerely, The other crayons.
Funny but if you stop and think about it pretty darn sad.
I daresay that many of us in church feel like that white crayon. At least when it comes to church.
We go to church in our Sunday best, maybe greet a few people on our way to our seat. We then enjoy a few songs and an inspirational message.
After church we reflect on the message and wonder "What does it mean to me?"
We go back to our lives on Monday morning and forget all about the message and the good feeling the songs made us feel until the following Sunday.
I must tell you, God has a better plan for you than that. God did not create "white crayons" who's only purpose in life is to provide contrast for the other crayons.
God wants you to make a difference. His desire for you is to add color to your world wherever you find yourself.
Not all of us are called to be up front leading worship or preaching a sermon. But God has called all of us to be a witness for Him. To share what He has done for us.
Not all of us are a Nicky Cruz or The Iceman. But we all have a story. We all have a testimony.
I am not saying a testimony like some where we recite a certain truth that is the same as the testimony of countless others.
I am talking of what you, yourself have experienced in your walk with God.
There are others going through similar things that God has brought you through. They need to hear your story. We need to hear your story!
I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone. Share your story. You may be just the splash of red or blue or purple that someone needs!
Be blessed!
Roger
